Iris Gold, LAc, OMD

Dr. Iris Gold is an Oriental Medicine doctor and licensed acupuncturist with extensive experience in natural medicine. She was originally trained as a microbiologist, and received three years of naturopathic medical training before going on to acupuncture school and receiving her doctorate in Oriental Medicine in China in 1989.

Practicing in Marin since 1983, Dr Gold has enjoyed a very eclectic practice, using acupuncture and herbs, nutritional supplements and specialized laboratory testing to create personalized treatment plans for each patients physical, emotional and spiritual well being. She strives to create a kindly listening presence, and is deeply committed to helping people live in harmony and in health.

Throughout her career, she has happily focused on issues of women’s health, helping hundreds of peri and post-menopausal women to achieve balance and ease during times of hormone transition. She also specializes in other women’s issues of fertility, pregnancy, weight gain, and mood management. When indicated, she offers plant based bio identical hormone replacement therapy. Collaborating frequently with her husband, a chiropractic orthopedist, Dr.Gold has extensive experience treating all types of pain conditions throughout the body.

She has been a frequent lecturer at acupuncture conferences in California, and has been a guest expert at spas and cruises in Mexico and Asia. She served on the Board of the California State Organization of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture for five years, and also is a volunteer acupuncturist at a clinic in the mission district of San Francisco, providing free treatments to low-income women with cancer.

Iris has two grown daughters, and aside from her work she dedicates herself to environmental activism, gardening and grandparenting.
