Dr. Maderis earned his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon, the oldest accredited naturopathic medical school in the U.S. He received a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree from the Classical Chinese Medicine Department at NCNM. Having both a western and a Chinese medical background allows Dr. Maderis to have a unique perspective on health and healing. Dr. Maderis provides a general family practice with a focus on women’s and children’s health, and gastrointestinal conditions. With over 10 years of work in the natural medicine field, Dr. Maderis holds that every person can live in optimal physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual health – not merely in the absence of disease. Accordingly, he focuses on discovering the cause of one’s illness and directing therapies towards the imbalance. This is not always an easy task, but the results are long-lasting and dynamic. Through his approach, people feel much better than if just their symptoms were treated. Dr. Maderis believes in harnessing the human body’s amazing ability to heal itself. “Just the way your body can fix a broken bone, it has the capacity to heal less obvious conditions if you are able to treat causes, get at the appropriate mechanisms, remove obstacles, and give your body the right opportunity.” Dr. Maderis is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in California, and a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the California Naturopathic Doctors Association. He regularly attends medical conferences on the most effective, safe, and natural approaches to health. He lives in Marin County with his wife and two children.
