What to Expect
The art of medicine requires a complete understanding of all the factors that may contribute to your health and well-being, so open dialogue with your doctor is encouraged. At your first office visit, you will work with your doctor to outline your past and present health concerns and goals. Your doctor will document a thorough medical history for you and relevant physical exams will be performed. Recommended diagnostic laboratory tests may be ordered to provide a complete understanding of your health. If you have had recent lab work, please bring a copy of the reports with you. At your first visit, we spend a full hour with you – longer if acupuncture or IV therapy is performed.
New Patient Forms
Once you have schedule your first office visit, you will receive instructions on how to log into our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Patient Portal. Our EMR portal will enable you to conveniently fill out our New Patient Intake and other forms prior to your appointment. You do not need to print anything, simply submit your questionnaire online.
We require all New Patient questionnaires to be completed prior to your appointment. We’ve found that this greatly enhances your initial consultation, since your doctor will spend time reviewing your health history before meeting with you.
Your doctor will determine when you should schedule any return visits based upon diagnosis, treatment plans, health goals, and appropriate monitoring. Return visits typically last 30 minutes. Please note any observations, symptoms that have improved or worsened, and questions you would like to address since your previous visit. We find it is very helpful when patients keep a symptom journal between visits to improve outcomes.
Payment and Insurance
When you schedule your first office visit, we will request a credit card number to hold your appointment. Payment in full is due at the time of service. Our office accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We also accept payment from your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
We do not submit to insurance companies directly, but upon your request we can provide you with a copy of your complete invoice so that you may submit it for reimbursement. We are“out -of-network” providers and are not contracted with any insurance carrier. According to the Affordable Health Care Act section 2706, the primary care services provided by ND's and DO's shall be covered by PPO insurance plans. Many of our patients receive 70-100% reimbursement.
