Dr. Sally LaMont loves working with people who are committed to self-care. She believes that properly supporting the body’s profound healing capacities through natural medicine enhances vitality, resolves symptoms, and reduces the risk of chronic disease.

As a naturopathic doctor, she specializes in the treatment of digestive problems, adrenal and thyroid imbalances, female hormonal imbalances, high cholesterol and blood sugar, and “diabesity.” She effectively treats food sensitivities, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, weight gain, insomnia, stress and adrenal fatigue, PMS, peri-menopause and menopause, and a range of other conditions.

Dr. LaMont establishes a deep connection with her patients, exploring how their lifestyle choices, environmental exposures, and genetics contribute to their health problems. She uses state of-the-art laboratory testing to identify the underlying triggers and develops personalized treatment protocols to resolve symptoms and reverse disease. She integrates nutritional and botanical medicine with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, and uses acupuncture and Chinese herbs as foundational therapies to reduce pain, restore balance, and promote optimal health.

As prior Executive Director of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, Dr. LaMont led the successful legislative campaign to license naturopathic doctors (NDs) in California, setting professional standards and granting Californians access to naturopathic medical care. In 2001, she was honored as “Physician of the Year” by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians for her leadership and contribution to shaping health policy in the United States. Known for her passionate delivery, Dr. LaMont has spoken at medical conferences and taught at San Francisco State University and the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.

Dr. LaMont earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 1981 from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine and her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 1986 at Emperor’s College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, The Institute for Functional Medicine and a Diplomat in Acupuncture through the NCCAOM. She has served on numerous boards, including the Marin Health Council, Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Advisory Board for Integrative Health Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies. “I have been seeing Dr. Sally LaMont for the last few months for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a condition that I was living with for 30 or more years and suffering with all of that time. She was recommended to me by a friend/chiropractor that I routinely see. My first encounter with Dr. LaMont went overtime, just because she wanted to get a true understanding of my history and problem. She explained every facet of my condition to me in terms I could understand and set a course of action for me that not only started getting rid of this malady, but also made me feel that it was up to me to do so. Diet, exercise and herbal supplements have changed my way of life since I started seeing Dr. LaMont and I would recommend her to anyone who deals with IBS. What impresses me most about Dr. LaMont is that she is able to explain the physiology of what is happening in my body and how to counteract what I had been putting up with for years in in layman’s terms. My life has changed as the IBS has all but gone away. There have been a few reversals in the last few months, but I can trace them to something I have eaten that I shouldn’t have. It is wonderful to feel so personally invested in my own health and well being, and I really have Dr. Sally to thank for opening my eyes and mind to “my part in this.”” John L.

“Dr. Sally LaMont was encouraging and inspirational and didn’t make me guilty about my unhealthy habits. She talked through what created the bad habits, how to structure a plan for success, and gave me the tools I needed to get on a healthy course. My biggest issue was not taking enough time to give my body its basic needs. Before we met, I couldn’t see what I was doing to myself and her guidance and knowledge gave me the edge I needed to be successful. I didn’t expect to lose weight, but I lost 15 pounds and it is staying off! It is great working with Dr. Sally and I can’t wait until my next appointment. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to become healthy.” Dawn D.

“What I experienced when working with Dr. Sally was a thorough, thoughtful assessment of my overall health condition. The stomach issue that I was suffering from was resolved when Dr. Sally instructed me how to wean off the prescription meds that weren’t working, and instead introduce diet changes and natural supplements. I loved how responsive and interested Dr. Sally was in my optimum health, which was evidenced by the time and attention she gave to me. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Sally to anyone who is grappling with on-going health concerns. Lastly, I appreciated the follow-up treatment I received from Dr. Sally via phone calls to check in on my progress. Very refreshing!!” Aileen W.

“My experience with working with Dr. Sally LaMont has been excellent. She’s provided a thorough assessment and treatment to make me the healthiest person I can be. She is knowledgeable and very intuitive about my overall health. She monitors which supplements I should take. Through 5 knee surgeries I have never been sick and felt as strong as I possibly could. I have referred Dr. LaMont over the years to my closest friends and she has helped them immensely. I don't know what I would do without Dr. LaMont in my life!” Diane B.
